Top 5 Ways to Lower Your Energy Bills by Brian Stack | Apr 14, 2017 | Energy Savings, High-Efficiency, HVAC System, Insulation | 2 comments If your energy bills seem to be ever-increasing, watch the video below to see how you can easily lower your energy consumption and put your money back in your pocket. 2 Comments Barbara Douglas on August 17, 2017 at 1:53 am The absolute BEST thing I did was to add radiant floor heat to my kitchen addition! When I originally did the addition 12yrs ago, the HVAC guy talked me out of the radiant floor heat… which I had researched and truly wanted as part of this major home renovation. I think the main reason he dissuaded me from getting the radiant floor system was that his company, who did all the other HVAC work for the almost-whole-house renovation, did not install radiant floor heat systems. After a couple of years of being dissatisfied with the cold, clamminess of that addition, (which I think is so prevalent with older home additions) I had Stack install the radiant floor system. The warmth that rises from the floor keeps the entire area comfortable, and I never turn on the forced air heat for that area. While I still love (after almost 13years?!) everything about the work I had done, addition of the radiant floor heat system is the one absolute I tell everyone to consider who is doing any of remodel. It is steady, constant warmth; no cycling of hot air blowing out of the registers. It is clean and more cost-effective than my forced air furnace.
